1ºCopa de España Boulder in Caceres

On Saturday and Sunday, March 28th and 29th, the Spanish Bouldering Cup was held in Cáceres, where Hang On Climbing proudly sent two of its top athletes to compete: Abián Delgado in the U15 men’s category and Félix Forrisdahl in the U17 men’s category.

The competition took place at the new Alberto Ginés climbing gym  an outstanding venue that provided the perfect setting for a national-level event. The organization by the FEDME was exceptional, ensuring a smooth and high-quality competition throughout the weekend.

Qualifying rounds began at 8:00 a.m. with the U15 category. Abián Delgado gave an excellent performance representing Hang On Climbing, finishing in 13th place out of a strong field of 48 competitors. As this was the first national event of the season, it was clear to see a significant improvement in the athletes’ level compared to last year. Abián’s performance reflected the hard work and dedication put into training over recent months.

Félix Forrisdahl competed later in the day in a highly competitive U17 category with 53 climbers from across Spain. Delivering an outstanding performance, Félix secured a place in the finals—an exceptional achievement for Hang On Climbing, competing against athletes with access to some of the best training facilities in mainland Spain. Félix went on to finish in an impressive 8th place overall.

These results point to a very exciting season ahead for Hang On Climbing at national level. Félix Forrisdahl will return to Cáceres to compete again on April 11th and 12th in the Lead Climbing event.

As a club, our goal is to continue developing more athletes to reach this level, providing them with opportunities to compete and enjoy experiences at national competitions.

We would also like to thank the Cabildo de Lanzarote for their continued support and collaboration.
